A beacon for medical innovation
The BISDI program aspires to expand the pipeline of local talent to improve healthcare in Abu Dhabi and beyond. BISDI’s vision is to transform lives via medical education and research, as a beacon for medical innovation in the UAE and beyond, to support regionally and globally relevant medical advancements.
Training scientists: online & in the lab
Together with Khalifa University, an exchange program is being worked out for Emirati (junior) scientists to be trained in the BISDI lab in Leuven, so that they can, upon return, establish state-of-the-art biomedical research in the BISDI lab in Abu Dhabi.
Protocols & lab set-up
BISDI builds on continuous interaction between the labs in Leuven and Abu Dhabi, from exchange of expertise & knowledge to tools & models.
Joint PhDs
The BISDI program highly values mentoring PhD students and early career scientists to help shape the ‘next generation of scientists'.
